具体问题:都是关于角色死亡之后重新加入的问题
1) 规则中有明确提到过,玩家在角色死去后不能立刻车一张卡重新加入游戏吗?
2) 规则书第十章在讲到调查员之死时,有“But the death of an investigator knocks a player out of the game until such a time that a new investigator can be created and introduced to the story.”这样的表述。问题是,具体的such a time究竟是指什么时候?是否是指角色成长阶段?但在角色成长的部分又没有见到相关的表述。
3) 调查员手册第九章中在讲到继承调查员时,有“Sometimes the whole party is simultaneously wiped out—do you leave the scenario unfnished or introduce new investigators to continue where their erstwhile colleagues left off?”这样的表述。
这里似乎隐含着“调查员们可以从团灭的点开始用新的角色继续游戏”的意味。是否有明确的规则指出并不能这么做?还是说,这段说法针对的是长战役,而不是短团?
回答内容:For long scenarios or campaigns : backup characters already woven into the story (ranging from the already active npc to the nephew who had a long correspondence with one of the investigators).
For one shots, it can be slightly harder, but there's almost always a friendly npc around that can easily join the investigators (the old deputy, a guide, an initial witness...). That's why it's sometimes good to also build the scenario to avoid too early death.
The thing is, you should try to include new characters really smoothly : it can bring a lot to the narrative. Also, ask if the players want to really create their new characters of if they are ok to play npc you've already introduced.
我认为这个问题很难脱离场景来进行回答,恐怕规则书即便提到也只能作为一种参考。
调查员的死亡在coc中或多或少都需要面对,类似的还有重伤昏迷和不定性疯狂等,他都会造成玩家失去对自己角色的掌控权。
这种时候,守秘人应当根据当前的情形来进行一个判断,如果战役刚刚开始,或者说自己安排的遭遇过严?
对于长团/战役,参考调查员手册中提到的继承或者遗传,角色的其他关系人接过这份遗志,加入到游戏中来。
对于短团,如果故事已经进行到临近终末的部分,规则书上提到的暂代NPC,会是更好的处理方法。(对于此,失落的缴款中也有相关的例子)
但是无论如何,守秘人应当充分考虑如何引入新的角色/接管NPC,从天而降或许可以(亲友团内),但难免有些生硬,或许警方上门通知死亡时,引入一名新的角色更为合适。
